Hello! I’m Michelle Tovar, an intern therapist at Dr. Tripp & Associates and a graduate student pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University. At DTAA, I’ve been fortunate to work with individuals, couples, and families from different backgrounds and a broad range of ages. Drawing from my diverse professional experience, including corporate health and wellness, public education, small business ownership, and lifestyle and athletic coaching, I strive to provide empathetic and tailored support for all my clients.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I have 25 years of experience in triathlon, including multiple Ironman finishes, as well as being an ultra-distance runner and cyclist. These endeavors have taught me the importance of mental fortitude, embracing your limitations, and the commitment to the day-to-day tasks required to achieve your goals—qualities I bring to my work with clients. I believe in a collaborative process, celebrating small victories along the way, and viewing challenges and obstacles as opportunities for growth and learning.
My therapeutic approach is primarily Solution-Focused, but I integrate other modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strategic and Structural Family Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, to ensure every client receives care that fits their unique needs. By connecting the dots from my life experiences, I strive to help others find clarity, build stronger relationships, and rediscover hope. Life is organic and ever-changing, as we all know. I encourage clients to adapt and embrace their circumstances as we work together to prepare for all life has in store for them. Whether in-person, via telehealth, or through community outreach, I am here to support you. Together, we can navigate life’s complexities and create the balance and fulfillment you seek.
