My name is Tamara Johnson-Nichols, and I'm a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in Florida (#ISW16713), currently pursuing my doctorate at Capella University. I'm passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their full potential and cultivate a more fulfilling life.
Throughout my master's and doctoral studies, and in my clinical experience, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations – children, adults, families, and couples – addressing a wide spectrum of challenges. This includes, but isn't limited to, trauma (including sexual abuse and domestic violence), ADHD, conduct disorders, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. I also possess significant experience in assisting with parenting challenges and family dynamics.
My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), grief counseling and trauma-informed care. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of criticism. My aim is to collaborate with you to develop personalized strategies that address your unique needs and goals.
I offer in-person, at our Port Saint Lucie office, and telehealth sessions, providing flexibility and accessibility. My ultimate objective is to help you reduce feelings of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm, fostering improved mental well-being and a greater sense of balance in your daily life.
